A look Back into year 2006 for Bhutan Cricket

Bhutan Cricket had a marching year 2006, the success of recently concluded ACC u-15 Challenge Cup 2006, held in Thailand where Bhutan Secured runner up and bagged the coveted spirit of the cricket trophy. This was the biggest Achievement by any sporting body of the bhutan where team has participate and brought home the cup.

The Board receive first ever Private sponsor from Zimdra Vanaspati with Nu 1 Million for the Development of youth cricket in Bhutan, Lhaki Cement with Nu 1 Lakh , Druk Air Corporation, and other Business Travel Company.

Bhutan participation in the ACC trophy in Malaysia beating only Myanmar in the whole tournament was a great disappointment for the players as well as the official.

The under-15 school cricket tournament saw the emerging of new talented young players and the interest among the school kids, Motithang School were Victorious after beating Yangchenphug in the Final.

We also saw that domestic tournament were held after a gap of almost two years in Thimphu in square ground where the match were played at the highest standard, named as Zimdra Vanaspati cup, the Tournament brought lights to the cricket lovers to actually get themselves shed few calories of fats and have fun.

Friends United with their superior Batting and Bowling attack were the ultimate Champion, with Youth11 Clinching second spot from a close encountered with Bhutan Telecom, in keeping the spirit of cricket as played nearby neighboring countries ,

bhutan cricket held the 1st ever two day match between the winner's and runner's up of zimdra vanaspati cup, the match was indeed a great success the players getting extra day for the cricket game.

The winter coaching camp for u-15 and u-13 begins tomorrow for the school kids.

As Bhutan Cricket hit's to yet another exciting year 2007, it's aim of promoting cricket within Bhutan and Amongst School, the development of Paro Shaba School Ground into a full Cricket Ground and have two to three natural turf wickets.
